How does SuperSurvey work?

The details of a survey maker's survey are stored in a special language called GQML™ for General Questionnaire Markup Language, which is a subset of XML. Upon activation, the GQML document is used to prepare a customized program which resides upon our servers. That way, survey makers never share the same server-side program for their surveys, giving greater speed, independence, and reliability.

Why do you use GQML™ / XML?

By building our software around an language (GQML™) rather than around a particular program, we are creating a system that is inherently flexible. For example, using a GQML-based survey, you could administer the same survey over the Web, phone, and PDAs, with a similar user experience for each.
Also, SuperSurvey recognizes the needs of business customers who are standardizing their data interchange formats around XML. Therefore, as XML becomes more widely supported, business customers can design and deploy their surveys directly by editing their own XML/GQML documents.

In what formats can I get survey results?

Survey results are available through our own Results Viewer, or may be downloaded in CSV format (usable by Excel, Stata, SPSS, and similar programs). If you need results in a different format, please contact us.

What are the specific technical requirements for survey making/taking?

Survey makers must be running a version 4.0 or higher browser (Netscape or Microsoft), with Javascript and Cookies enabled.
Survey takers need only a web browser which supports forms (all modern browsers, including Mosaic, Netscape, Microsoft IE, Opera, Lynx, and Mozilla are included).
