Premium Features
To help you determine what features count as Premium features for billing
purposes, we include
this icon:
Your survey will be priced at the package level corresponding to your
feature usage. You can
always check on feature use and package status from the "Details" link in
My Surveys, or on the
first page of survey activation. To see which features are part of which
package, please refer to
our current pricing.
Preview
To help you make good decisions about your survey before you activate it,
we offer highly
informative question and survey previewing.
- Question Previews display a single question in isolation, so that you can examine the formatting, text, and other features of a question.
- Survey Previews present a fully-functional version of the survey for your examination. All survey features -- from security and privacy through LOGIQ™ skip conditions -- are functional for you to see.
- White background areas are required. These are necessary areas, like the text of the question or answer.
- Grey background areas are advanced. They are strictly optional, but add useful features like answer rotation or image inclusion. If you are making a very simple survey, you might not need to use these advanced features.
- Colored (e.g. blue) background areas are actions that you take to make a choice (like which question type) or add an answer.
- Required -- We recommend against making questions required unless the choices in the question completely encompass every possible option, or unless you provide an "other" or "don't know" option.
- Rotate Answers -- Rotating the order in which the answers appear makes it less likely that respondents will be biased toward the first choices on the list. On the other hand, rotation is not advisable when you have a clear scale of answers (e.g. Poor, Fair, Good, Excellent) where order matters.
- Answer Value -- Normally, the value that is stored as belonging to an answer is the same as the text for that answer. However, in some cases, you may wish to give a value to an answer in order to perform statistical "weighting", or to quantify some scale (e.g., Poor (value 0), Fair (value 1), Good (value 2), Excellent (value 3)). Respondents are not directly shown any value specified for an answer.
- Response Box -- Adding a response box allows you to have the equivalent of an "other" box where respondents can write in their own answer.
- "Null radio box" -- Certain web browsers require that one box be checked on any select-one (radio button) form. This option includes a separate box unobtrusively placed which starts out checked. We recommend including the null radio box unless there is a specific reason not to do so.
- Add one or more questions to your survey by clicking "Add Question" and following the steps in Question Editor. Alternatively, you may import a question from another survey by using the QuestionBank.
- If needed, add pages by clicking "Add Page" between existing pages. (NOTE: BASIC surveys are limited to using one numbered page. The "Final Message" at the end of your survey does not count as a page for this purpose.)
- Move questions within a page or between pages.
- Question-based LOGIQ™ conditions can be set in Your Survey for one qualifying question per page (specifically, multiple-choice questions with only one answer possible, or pull-down box questions with only one answer possible). Click on the default link at the right of the relevant answer; this will show drop-down boxes for setting the next page if that answer is selected.
- By default, each survey flows to the next page. However, to permit complex LOGIQ routes, you may change the default next page. Use this in conjunction with question-based LOGIQ conditions for setting up complex skip logic.
